LDDC4028 Design points of server cooling fan:
The internal space of the server is compact and the heat is concentrated, so the fans are mostly industrial grade products with high speed and high wind pressure. 40mm, 80mm, and 120mm are the most mainstream sizes, and their thickness is also thicker than ordinary chassis fans (such as 28/38mm) to provide stronger airflow penetration.
The problem to be solved for the server cooling fan:
1. Small size; Standard 1U rack server (height only 44.45mm)/2U rack server height only 8.89cm;
2. High power consumption: Dual Intel Xeon Platinum CPU, with a total power consumption of 350-450W;
3. High resistance: The internal space is extremely narrow, there are many components, the air duct is long, and the resistance is high;
LD Industry provides solutions for cooling fans.
High air volume, high-speed, strong penetration power
Airflow (CFM): Represents how much air a fan can deliver. High power devices such as AI servers require a large amount of air to dissipate heat. Wind pressure (mmH ₂ O): represents the ability of a fan to "blow through" obstacles. The densely packed heat sinks and components inside the server form a high impedance, requiring high-pressure fans to ensure that cold air reaches the heat source core. RPM: It is the foundation for achieving high air volume and high air pressure. The speed of server fans is usually in the thousands to tens of thousands of revolutions per minute, and the LDDC4028 cooling fan can reach a maximum wind speed of 16000 RPM.
Bearings can meet the requirements of quietness, long service life, high and low temperature resistance, waterproof and dustproof, and stable operation
Bearing: Double ball bearings are the mainstream choice, which are resistant to high temperatures, have a long service life, and can adapt to 7x24 hour uninterrupted operation.
Lifetime (MTTF/MTBF): Extremely high requirements, usually calculated in units of tens of thousands or even 100000 hours. Protection level (IP): In some industrial or dusty environments, fans need to have dustproof and waterproof capabilities, such as IP5X and IP68 levels. Material: The fan blades are prone to deformation during high-speed rotation, and high-end fans use LCP (liquid crystal polymer) material to ensure the stability of the blades at high speeds.
Diversified selection of electrical control functions:
PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) speed regulation: This is a standard feature for server fans. The system can adjust the fan speed in real-time and milliseconds based on temperature, reducing the speed to save energy and reduce noise when the load is low, and immediately running at full speed when the load is high. FG (frequency generator) speed measurement signal: used to provide real-time feedback to the system on the current fan speed for monitoring purposes. Closed loop speed control: a more advanced control technology that can maintain a constant speed even under disturbances such as voltage fluctuations, ensuring the stability of heat dissipation.
